As early as 1990 we were interested in buying the property where Holly Gardens is now located.  In late December 1990 we were told that the property had been on the market for almost a year.  There was no for sale sign and we didn't see any ads in the local paper.  Toni visited the real estate office to get information on the property and was told it had been taken off the market. (The lady sitting at the desk took the listing card off the sales board.) I called a friend in the business that very morning and ask him to call this firm and tell them he had a prospect for x number of acres and the buildings really didn't matter that much.  Ten or so listings were sent to him and low and behold, this property was one of them! So much for being off the market.   Three years later after many hours of hard labor, our dream garden center was realized.
